Bisbal intrigues with its omnipresent circular shapes. The opposite of the classic approach to the painted motif, the circle perforates the material, it is highlighted when several plates of different colors are superimposed. A primary, essential form, the circle evokes the infinite, the universal which connects men; it turns out to be resolutely modern and makes Bisbal timeless.
In La Bisbal, a Catalan pottery center known for its red earth, Joan and Carles made the Bisbal plates in enameled earthenware.
What may seem like irregularities are manifestations of Bisbal's artisanal manufacturing, they give it singularity and character.
